We have successfully delivered a wide variety of projects since the QUBE brand was started in 2016.
Working collaboratively in a team culture is vital to all successful projects. We strive to streamline processes and eliminate duplication, which in turn saves time and costs for all stakeholders.
I began my QS career back in 1991 and became a Registered QS in 2011. I have been a member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors for over 20 years. In 2019 I was very proud to be recognized by NZIQS and awarded Fellow membership status.
I look after the day to day running of the business keeping a close eye on all projects.

Tauranga Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor
I have been part of the QUBE family for over 8 years and in which time we have completed over 1,800 successful projects. Our main strengths are knowledge, teamwork and a can-do attitude.
I love being part of the Tauranga community and along with my young family we recently bought a home in Papamoa.
I manage the Tauranga office ensuring the delivery and quality for estimating/feasibility reports, tenders, schedules of quantities, re-build valuations and monthly administration.
I am a Member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors and I also hold a NZ Diploma in Construction.

Tom Schimanski

Senior Quantity Surveyor
Tom started his QS career in 2013 and holds a NZ Diploma in Construction.
Working in both Auckland and Queenstown as a Consultant QS, Tom has been involved in a diverse range of projects including Commercial, Residential and Education.
With a strong focus on bank funding, he also offers broad experience and knowledge in estimating, value engineering and contract servicing.
Tom is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
Darren van Rensburg
BSc QS (Hons), BSc (CE)
Darren started his QS career in 2005 and holds both a Bachelor of Science in Construction Economics and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Quantity Surveying. He is also an International member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
He manages all facets of Quantity Surveying services offered by QUBE specialising in estimating, feasibility, cost control, schedules of quantities and post contract administration.
Sam Taylor

Senior Quantity Surveyor
Sam is a highly motivated and delivery-driven Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 10 years’ experience in construction, within New Zealand and the United Kingdom. With involvement in complex construction projects valued up to $140m.
Sam is an expert in managing costs across residential, retail, educational and commercial projects. Constantly striving to improve delivery, Sam’s key focus remains on the client’s needs and meeting their expectations. Sam approaches all challenges with a ‘can do’ attitude, maintaining strong attention to detail.
Campbell Liddell

Senior Quantity Surveyor
Campbell has been working as a Quantity Surveyor since 2015 after completing his studies at Otago Polytechnic with a Diploma in Quantity Surveying and a Diploma in Construction Management.
Campbell has spent the last 9 years of his career working as a PQS in Dunedin, which has allowed him to work on a range of projects from small residential to large scale education and medical projects.
New to the QUBE team in 2025, Campbell is looking forward to the move into the Central Otago market and increasing QUBE’s presence in the Wanaka area.
Alongside working as a Quantity Surveyor, Campbell has spent a large amount of time volunteering on the NZIQS Otago Committee helping to advocate the career of a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
Jess Zhang

Quantity Surveyor
Jess started her QS career in 2018 and holds a Bachelor of Construction in Quantity Surveying. She is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
Jess is experienced in providing concept stage estimating, schedule of quantities, tendering, and post contract management for education, commercial, and high-end residential projects.
Proactively solving problems, Jess exceeds clients’ expectations.
Laura Allende
NZDipConst
Laura started her QS career in 2021 and completed her NZ Diploma in Construction in 2023. She also holds a Business Administration Degree.
Whilst learning every day about the Construction industry, her main strength is sum insured reports and also delivers estimates, SOQ’s and bank reports.
Laura always goes above and beyond to exceed clients’ expectations.
Jan Zoha
Jan started as an assistant QS in 2021 and is working towards his NZ Diploma in Construction. He is also a student member of NZIQS.
As well as managing sub-contractor SOQ’s, he also assists with estimating, tendering and post contract administration.
Contract administration is a main strength of Jan’s, often delivering way beyond clients’ expectations.

James McKinney

James started his QS career in 2022 after finishing his NZ Diploma in Construction in the same year. James comes from a sub-contractor background, working as a Junior QS. He also has worked in estimating and material procurement.
James has a strong background in client facing roles. He aims to exceed client expectations through his meticulous approach to estimating. He is also a student member of NZIQS.
Bryan Prestidge
Bryan began his career in Quantity Surveying almost 40 years ago and is a retired member of the NZIQS.
He has gained extensive knowledge and expertise across a wide range of residential and commercial projects.
Bryan undertakes all aspect of Quantity Surveying and supports our team mainly with detailed Schedules of Quantities, ensuring precision and excellence is delivered to our clients on every project.
Elena Iarkhunova
Elena joined the QUBE team in March 2023 with her main focus on marketing the QUBE brand.
She is skilled in social and digital media, print and SEO.
Elena also assists the QS team in daily operations.
